Okay. Song Three is: "a song you like driving to."
Confession: I don't listen to filmi music much, except at the gym, hence my difficulty at pulling some of these songs out of my memory bank. And when I drive (and I do, alas, cos I live in a place with lousy public transport), I like to listen to classic rock and roll. I suspect this is because when I first learned to drive, what I listened to was rock and roll.
Another confession: I tend not to like Hindi film rock music. I don't know why, but in the vast majority of cases, it doesn't work for me. There's one exception, and that's the music for the film Paanch. In case you don't know Paanch, that's Anurag Kashyap's unreleased first film. It is flawed, but it is a compelling watch. My dream is that one day TIFF will do a retrospective of Kashyap's films at the Bell Lightbox, and they'll bring Paanch in, with subtitiles, and we'll be able to see it in its full glory on a cinema screen. It features one of Kay Kay Menon's most brilliant performances, and, since it's the story of a struggling rock band, a great rock score composed by Vishal Bhardwaj (with lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala).
So, the song I would listen to while driving is "Main Khuda" from Paanch, sung by KK:
