Hi, there, just discovered your blog! It's good fun! I love Vidya, Arshad and Naseer, but even this could not convince me to go see this movie (even though I love that song!) I've heard the movie is a little left of center, so it'll definitely be a Netflix rental for me. The song, however, is beautiful!

Also, I love your unhealthy fascination with David Dhawan/Govinda. I've only seen Govinda in Partner (he was adorable but that movie was blah). I almost watched him in Salaam-e-Ishq but had to turn it off after a half hour because it was just... dragging... on.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the movie! :) Please link to your review once it's published.

Thanks so much!

The film *is* definitely not mainstream -- and the song doesn't actually appear anywhere in the film. This is a good thing, however, as it really wouldn't have fit anywhere without completely spoiling the mood and tone of the film.

The audience in the theatre the night we went was almost all very young, urban and (not surprisingly) Desi. And they seemed to be enjoying it very much.

Will link to the review once I have a quick moment to blog-- very busy week around here :-) But thanks again for leaving a comment, I really appreciated it!
