I DID want to see! I always want to see Govinda fashion. It never disappoints. He's like the Chloe Sevigny of Bollywood. (Only sartorially, though.)

I too thought the cuffs might be separate! What year is this? I have no memory of such shoes. I remember high-top aerobics sneakers, but shoes with stretchy ankle cuff things? More research is necessary. There must be excellent fashion archives online....

The film is from 1989 -- so we're talking 1980s. I'm not turning anything up, so now I'm wondering if I'm having some kind of weird flashback. At my age, anything is possible.

But seriously, even if the fringed cuffs are separate, that is just totally not a good look, not with jeans and leather jacket. He needs a proper pair of cool footwear with that. Of course, this is with 20 year's hindsight.

:-)

Chloe Sevigny? Oh, poor Govinda.

(Seriously, though, I've long thought he needed/needs a better stylist.)

Okay, my husband says he thinks (based on the fuzzy video) that they may actually be some sort of combat shoe/boot thing with a fold-over cuff to cover the lacing. Which, if he's right, I suppose makes them technically cool.

He thinks I'm confusing them with suede pull-on booties with a cuff.

Which may be true.

I say: FUG EITHER WAY. But the more details, the better.
