Oh, SRK, you know how I love you, especially in Om Shanti Om!
And I hate to break it to you this way, but....Govinda did it first:
(Tan Badan, 1986)
And yes, this gives me a perfect excuse to talk about Govinda's first ever film, Tan Badan, from 1986:
Or, it would give me the perfect excuse, if I could actually manage to find the film, which has become the Holy Grail of all true Govinda fans. I know it has existed on DVD in the past, and I have seen precisely three clips from the film:
"O Saathiya" (from whence the screencap came)
"Main Bhi Jawa" -- which is so low-budget on both music and choreography and effects that they couldn't afford an actual rain scene, just a hose:
(Aside: I have this unwritten list of rules for Govinda, and number one on it is that Govinda should never, ever, get wet.)
And, of course, this, which I find in two places labelled as either "Meri Nahin Bansi Ki Dhun" or "Krishna Krish", which features what Vanessa over at Shahrukh is Love has dubbed "the silver pants of awesome" (seriously, break out your sunglasses for this clip):
One day, this film will be mine. Oh, yes, it will.

Your list of rules for Govinda is like, the total opposite to mine :)
I LOVE that I can now add Tan Badan (hahah I have a post coming up about my OBSESSION with the non-existence of this film) to my list of films I must own because they are 'referenced' in Om Shanti Om.
Like the SILVER PANTS OF AWESOME aren't reason enough.

Sigh. It's the hair. He ends up looking like a drowned rat.
I'm trying to think if there are exceptions to the rule. Hatya may provide one of them, will have to have another look at the rain scene there.

You know, you're right on that one. Okay, okay, I may have to rethink the wet rule. :-)

Yah!!! I want to own Tan Badan on dvd with English subs. I saw it sooo long ago when I was younger. I will definitely do a Govinda recap post soon!

@Vanessa: I have to change the wet rule. I've been shown so many great wet Govinda clips in the last day, that I think there may have to be a change to it.
@Nicki English subs would be brilliant -- right now, I'd even settle for a VCD without them just to be able to see the whole thing. Looking forward to your recap post!
