I was just a wee bit disappointed to discover that Abhishek Chaubey's directorial debut film "Ishqiya" was not going to be shown in either of the theatre chains for which I was given gift cards at Christmas. Yes, we're still pretty unemployed around here, so those gift cards are our chances to see films in the cinema right now.
But "Ishqiya", nope, only a very limited run at the cinema specializing in Bollywood cinema.
However, the Tech Guy suggested that $20 would not break us, and that we really needed to go see "Ishqiya". (Someone, hire this guy, because see how nice he is? And he's talented, I swear to it -- you might say I'm biased, but I do have to work with him in my little knitting business, and if he weren't good at what he does, I'd have fired him long ago. Seriously.)
So we're off to see the film tomorrow night -- and happily, they needed someone to review it over at Bollyspice.com, and since I haven't been able to write a review for them in a while, I'm also happy that it worked out that it'll be me writing the review!
I've been listening to the soundtrack, and am just in love with this song, "Ibn-e-Batuta":
